Field Hockey Team Tries British Food

Team USA joined "Today Show" correspondents Giada De Laurentiis and Ryan Seacrest

The U.S. Women’s Field Hockey team joined the “Today Show” on Friday morning to sample some of Britain’s finest food.

Olympic teammates were so excited about the London Games that they jumped for joy.

Players, many of whom train in San Diego, tried British fare with “Today” correspondent and celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis.

Ryan Seacrest tasted some of the dishes with the U.S. field hockey team, including a traditional meal of “blood cake” – a pork product that includes a pig ear garnish.

Player Katie O’Donnell tweeted a picture of her and Seacrest post-meal, before the team got ready for the Opening Ceremony.

The U.S. Women’s Field Hockey team will first play on Sunday, July 29 at 1:15 p.m. on NBC Sports.
