White Sox Legend Minnie Minoso Hospitalized After Falling Off Boat

He is expected to be released from the hospital tomorrow

Chicago White Sox great Minnie Minoso was hospitalized after a fall from his boat, officials said Saturday.

Team spokesperson Scott Reifert confirmed Minoso was "pulled from the water [Friday] and taken to St. Joseph Hospital for tests."

The team talked with the 88-year-old baseball legend Saturday and Minoso reportedly said he is "feeling fine."

Reifert said Minoso will likely stay hospitalized for one more day to run more tests. He is expected to be released tomorrow.

Minoso is a fan favorite, and the first Cuban to play for the South Siders.

A nine-time All-Star outfielder and Gold Glove winner, he debuted at Comiskey Park in 1951 and played in parts of four decades with the team.
