White Injured in Aztec Win

The Aztecs started Mt. West Conference play with a good one, hosting 15th ranked New Mexico.

Steve Fisher's Aztecs are undefeated at home this season, 8-0, 11-3 overall going into this one.

Early on, Billy White went showtime. It figured that White would need to have a big game for the Aztecs to win. But later in the first half, White went down with a high ankle sprain. He watched the rest of the game from the bench and left on crutches.

The Aztecs led by two at the break then just took the game away from the Lobos early in the second half.

Malcolm Thomas was all over the place. The coach told them, don't let up. Thomas didn't. He finished with 18 points, 15 boards. Aztecs win by ten 74-64 in front of 7500 fans. They're 12-3 overall.
