No Poor Sports at These Games

There were no poor sports on Sunday when nearly  1,000 locals participated in adult sports league Vavi’s Sunday Funday.

Teams that included  Team Blackout and Team Rough Touch, Heavy Petting compete against one another every Sunday, playing two different sports each week. The crowd and team mascots like Mimosa the Chihuahua cheer on the competitors from the sidelines.

This week’s games of choice were kickball and flag football.

“It’s a great way to spend an afternoon and go out and get outside and hang out with friends,” said one Vavi flag footballer just after her team scored the winning touchdown.

Losing didn't seem to diminish the fun -- it helps that there's always next week?  Oh, and beer, too.

Winners and losers convene after the games, which usually end at 1 p.m.. With glasses full and spirits high at the Tap Room afterward, kickball player Rachel and friends proved that even though they lost they can still say "cheers.
