Famed L.A. Dodger Announcer Vin Scully was hospitalized Thursday night after falling out of bed and hitting his head, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Scully was released from the hospital at 11 a.m. on Friday, the Dodgers said. Scully issued a statement: “Thank you to everyone for their thoughts and prayers, and I apologize for any concern that I caused. Most importantly, I’m looking forward to Sunday’s game, my first of the spring.”

Scully had been transported from his home in Hidden Hills to West Hills Hospital and Medical Center on Thursday and spent the night at the hospital for observation.

Scully, 82, had been broadcasting Dodgers games on radio or TV since 1950, when the team was still in Brooklyn. He's scheduled to call all of the Dodgers home games this season, as well as road games against teams in the National League West and American League West.
