A former Mission Bay High School football star has been suspended for the season opener at Hawaii, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Southern California freshman running back Dillon Baxter was suspended for violating team rules, but Trojans coach Lane Kiffin gave no details.

Baxter was one of the stars of spring practice for USC and was expected to have a significant role in the Trojans' offense.

The prized freshman running back ran for 2,984 yards on 261 carries for Mission Bay High last season. According to MaxPreps.com, he has drawn comparisons to Reggie Bush.
