Having an extra week to prepare for an NFL opponent is an advantage. And for the second straight game the Chargers will face that challenge against a division opponent nonetheless.
Last Sunday the Oakland Raiders, fresh off a bye, played the Bolts tough. This Sunday the Bolts host the Chiefs who, like the Raiders, will be well rested. Kansas City hasn't played since October 5th.
Seem a bit unfair? It gets worse for the Bolts. After the KC game on Sunday the Chargers have only a few days to prepare for yet another division opponent. They play at Denver on Thursday night.
Despite the scheduling oddities Philip Rivers doesn't seem too concerned, "Those kind of things that are out of our control really don't matter when you get down to it." Rivers added,"Come one o'clock on Sunday it isn't anything we'll be thinking about."
If there is a silver lining, after the Chargers game at Mile High next Thursday the Bolts have an extra three days to prepare and/or rest before traveling cross-country to face the Dolphins in Miami on November 2nd.
