Toreros Break Their Losing Streak

After a six-game losing streak, University of San Diego’s Toreros basketball team has finally come out on top with an eleven point win over Cal State Bakersfield on Saturday night.

Chris Gabriel scored a career-high 16 points, helping the team collect its 76 points for the win. Darian Norris scored 12 points and Matt Dorr added 11 for San Diego, which outrebounded an opponent for the first time in 10 games.

San Diego (4-16) defeated a Division I opponent for only the second time this season.

The Toreros' only other Division I win came right before the start of the losing streak, a 67-64 win over Utah on Christmas.
