There's No Place Like…Pittsburgh!

Logan Forsythe and Rene Rivera hit consecutive two-out RBI singles in the ninth to complete the Padres unlikely comeback win at Pittsburgh on Wednesday.

With the 3-2 win the Friars are a head scratching 31-10 at PNC Park since it opened in 2001, having never dropped a series.

Tyson Ross pitched a gem, allowing just one hit through six innings. His only blemish was giving up a two-run homer to Andrew McCutchen that tied the game in the seventh. Reliever Dale Thayer won for the third time this year. Huston Street put the Pirates down in order to secure his 31st save of the season.

The red hot Padres are now 11-4 in their last 15 games. Although they have long been eliminated from the playoff chase the Padres are causing the Pirates fits, having won three straight in this four game series.

Pittsburgh dropped two behind St. Louis in the NL Central and are now tied with the Reds for the top two wild card spots, five clear of Washington.

The Padres go for the series sweep Wednesday afternoon.
