Stults Stifles Dodgers

Padres starter Eric Stults is pitching well of late. He got the win Wednesday night at Chavez Ravine and is 3-0 in the month of August. Stults (6-13) scattered four hits over five innings and gave up just one run in the Padres 4-1 victory.

The Padres got all the offense they would need in the second inning. They parlayed three hits into three runs. Alexi Amarista and Stults both had RBI singles.

Kevin Quackenbush pitched the ninth to get his first major league save.

The series winds up Thursday with Tyson Ross taking the hill for the Padres. He'll face Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.
