Spanos Family Shopping Share of Chargers: Report

There's word that the Chargers' owners are looking to sell a minority share in the team.

Fanhouse.com reports that the Spanos family has hired Goldman Sachs, which the website says has met with several investors in Los Angeles

Over the past week, there's been renewed talk of building a new stadium in downtown LA.

And the LATimes reported last week that the Chargers would have a good fit in Casey Wasserman. He's a well-heeled sports mogul who's worked with the Spanos' in the past and has ties to AEG, the group that wants to build the new stadium next to Staples Center.

However, Chargers' special counsel Mark Fabiani told Fanhouse that the Spanos family is shopping the stake solely for "estate-planning purposes."
