Inquiring Shark fans want to know:

Vancouver's win Sunday night kept them from elimination.  Now we have to wait until at least Tuesday to find out who wins the other half of the Western Conference. The Blackhawk Canuck series shifts to Canada for a crucial Game 6 tomorrow.

In the NHL, playoff dates depend on the length of each series.  The Sharks took it early which means more rest and recovery time for the team in teal.

Because of concerts booked at HP Pavilion this week, and the Eastern Conference teams still battling—the Sharks won’t start their next series until Friday at the earliest.

  • By the numbers:  The Sharks were 3-1 against the Canucks in the regular season, and 1-2-1 against the Blackhawks.

There is speculation that if the Sharks face Vancouver, they may lose national television coverage to the Eastern powers-that-be Pittsburgh, Boston and Philadelphia.  Vancouver may have been a big deal during the Olympics, but is not seen as a big draw to USA viewers now.  The Sharks and their fans are used to not getting much national attention, other than criticism for previous playoff failures.

Tickets for the upcoming Western Conference Finals series go on sale Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. You can get them at The Tank ticket office or at www.Ticketmaster.com.
