Padres starter Odrisamer Despaigne fanned 9 Brewers in Padres win.

Trailing the Brewers 2-1 heading into the bottom of the 9th inning it didn't look good for the Padres. But their fortunes changed with one swing of the bat. Francisco Rodriguez threw a fastball over the plate and Rivera deposited it into the left field bleachers at Petco Park. The lead-off homer, Rivera's th of the season, tied the game.

An inning later it was Rivera again to the rescue. His two out single in the 10th won it for the Padres 3-2. Starter Odrisamer Despaigne pitched well for the Friars. He went seven innings, allowed just one earned run and struck out nine.

The Padres are off on Thursday. They host the Dodgers in a weekend series beginning Friday.
