Darby, Pennsylvania's Darrell Hill began his track career at Penn Wood High School in Yeadon before graduating from Penn State University, the same college fellow Olympic shot putter Joe Kovacs attended. Hill stands 6-foot, 3-inches tall and weighs 320 pounds. Hill was a recent resident athlete at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista.
