Rangers Sweep Through San Diego

    Josh Hamilton's Rangers have won six straight.

    It was another series to forget for the Padres. In the three game set they managed to score only six runs. The 4-2 loss secured the series sweep for the Rangers, who have now won six straight .

    The Padres got to Darvish (9-4) in the second inning. Padres starting pitcher Anthony Bass helped his own cause with a two out, 2-RBI single.

    Bass allowed one run and three hits in five innings of work. He left the game with inflammation in his right shoulder and a 2-1 lead.

    Trailing 2-1 the Rangers scored twice in the top of the sixth. Reliever Dale Thayer (0-2) took the loss.

    At 24-46 the Padres have the worst record in the majors. Texas leads the big leagues with 43 wins. The Padres begin a three game series at PETCO on Friday against the Mariners.
