Philip Rivers Supports Pro Team In Los Angeles

Chargers QB spotted in Clippers hat at playoff game

This took off on Social Media, so now it needs to be addressed. Yes, the photograph attached to this story is Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers sporting a Los Angeles Clippers hat while watching the Clips play game 3 of their playoff series at Staples Center on Friday night.

Once people saw that the speculation erupted. Now, while it is interesting, and in some way amusing, that Rivers chose the cap of another major professional sports franchise that left San Diego behind, it in no way represents anything that has anything to do with a potential Chargers move to L.A.

Philip Rivers is friendly with Clippers head coach Doc Rivers (no relation), so of course Rivers is going to root for a guy he likes. Philip was captured by the TV cameras, but fellow Bolts Jahleel Addae, Jason Verrett and Dontrelle Inman were also enjoying the closest NBA playoff game to our town.

So folks, don't worry. All is well. Rivers has not suddenly changed his mind and endorsing a move to L.A. for his team, his family or his career. The guy just likes basketball.
