Padres vs. Giants: Trash Talking Gets Serious

Derek Norris has choice words for Angel Pagan

I'll warn you right off the bat, this video has a naughty word in it.

In the 9th inning of Thursday night's game at Petco Park, Padres catcher Derek Norris and Giants outfielder Angel Pagan got in to a bit of a spat at home plate. It was heated enough for the home plate umpire to issue a warning to both benches to knock it off.

Pagan threw a piece of chewed up gum at Norris, but says it was an accident. It did not look like any accident. Norris stood up for himself, the altercation ensued, and on the very next pitch Padres closer Craig Kimbrel buzzed a 97-MPH fastball up under Pagan's chin.

NBC 7's Derek Togerson asked Norris what was said, and Kimbrel if the brushback pitch was intentional. One thing is certain, these new Padres will not back down from anybody, especially not the reigning World Series champions.
