Padres Should Focus on Roster not Petco Park

San Diego Padres drop to 5 and 14

The Padres brass is once again talking about making changes to Petco Park.

Forget the field, concentrate on the roster.

The Padres managed only two runs on 7 hits, losing to the Washington Nationals 7-2.

Joe Weiland took the loss. He's 0-3.

His counterpart, Jordan Zimmerman drove in a run with an rbi single in the second inning, as the Nats got out to a 2-0 lead.

Heck even Nats relief pitcher Tom Gorzellany had an RBI single.

Orlando Hudson had one of the Padres hits, a solo homerun off Zimmerman in the 5th inning, his first of the year.

Cameron Maybin got the other rbi, even though he went 0-4. His batting average dropped to 167. The Nats broke it open with four runs in the 7th.

So the Padres drop to 5 and 14. They'll try to avoid being swept.

Edinson Volquez (0-2) goes for his first win against Edwin Jackson.
