In the middle of a 10-game losing streak, the president and CEO of the San Diego Padres has resigned.
The team announced the resignation of Tom Garfinkel Tuesday.
After Monday's loss to the Rockies, the Padres have now dropped 10 straight and 16 of their last 20.
Game two of the three-game series is Tuesday night at Petco Park.
According to the team's news release, Peter Seidler and Ron Fowler said the team wishes Garfinkel well. He will stay in his post on an interim basis until a replacement is named.
Garfinkel made headlines earlier this year when he apologized after a recording surfaced in which he compared Zack Greinke to “Rain Man.”
