Padres Non-Tender Cabrera

In 2013 he was an All-Star. In 2015 he will be a free agent. That is the fate that awaits former Padres shortstop Everth Cabrera. In an expected move the club non-tendered the 28-year old on Tuesday. He is now free to sign with any team.

Cabrera played six seasons with the Padres, but appeared in just 90 games for the team in 2014, batting .232, while earning $2.45 million as a first-year arbitration eligible player. While on the disabled list with a bad hamstring, Cabrera was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of marijuana.

Cabrera also served a 50-game suspension two years ago for violating the league's PED policy.
