Padres Hammer Cardinals

Starting pitcher Jesse Hahn is continuing his impressive run. On Wednesday night he allowed just four hits and one run in seven innings of work. At 7-2, Hahn is off to the best start ever by a Padres rookie. To say he also got offensive support would be an understatement as the Padres beat the Cardinals 12-1.

Jedd Gyorko collected four hits and four RBI including his 6th home run of the season. Will Venable also went yard. Yangervis Solarte added four base hits and drove in a pair. The Padres put the game away in the bottom of the seventh, pushing eight runs across the plate.

The Padres go for the unlikely series sweep against the Cardinals Thursday afternoon at Petco Park.
