The Padres made it three straight over the Cubs. They're now six games up on the Giants who lost in Philadelphia.

Padres go for the sweep Friday at Wrigley Field before spending the weekend in Milwaukee.

They're 5-1 on this road trip and have won nine of their last 10. Matt Stairs drove in the first two runs with this bases loaded double in the first inning.

Adrian Gonzalez had another good day. He reached base five times --- with a homerun, single and three walks.

Iit's not their offense that's carrying them this season. They rank 10th in the National League but their pitching is lights out.
