Padres Complete Sweep

When the Giants arrived at Petco Park on Friday for their three-game series against the Padres they were 2 1/2 games behind the first place Dodgers in the NL West. On Sunday afternoon after getting swept by the Padres they left San Diego 4 1/2 games out.

Padres starter Ian Kennedy (12-13) got the win and reached the 200-strikeout milestone for the season. He's just the fourth Padre pitcher in history to do so.

The Padres put the game away with a four-run sixth inning and a three-run seventh and won 8-2.

Colorado comes to town for a three-game series starting Monday that will finish off the 2014 home schedule for the Friars.
