Padres Cash In Against Dodgers

He did it on the mound. He did it with the bat. Padres starter Andrew Cashner (3-7) gave up two runs over seven innings to get his first win since April 16th. Cashner also drove in a pair of runs in the Padres 6-3 win Tuesday night over the Dodgers at Chavez Ravine.

The Padres got to Dodgers starter Roberto Hernandez (8-11) early. Cashner's 2-RBI double in the second started the scoring. He came across on a Cory Spangenberg single to make it 3-0 Padres.

Jedd Gyorko drove in a pair in the third on his tenth home run for the year. Hernandez was pulled after the inning.

With the win the Padres broke a six-game losing streak. The rubber game of the series is Wednesday evening and the last match-up of the year between the two. Ian Kennedy takes the hill for the Padres against Dan Haren.
