Offensive Line Roulette

Chargers Have More Injuries Up Front

The Chargers are already on their fifth center of the 2014 season. Depending on the health of Chris Watt's injured calf, they might even have their fifth different STARTING center of the year. As quarterback Philip Rivers pointed out after last Sunday's win over the Ravens in Baltimore, that would give them more starting centers than losses.

I'd say San Diego's offensive line is a revolving door, but a revolving door actually stops at some point. The Bolts' line rotation seems endless.

In addition to the possibility of Trevor Robinson starting for Watt against the Patriots on Sunday, the Chargers might not have right tackle D.J. Fluker, who sustained a concussion in practice on Wednesday. He still has a chance to play.

But, backup guard Ryan Miller does not. Miller also suffered a concussion Wednesday when he reportedly slipped on the wet ground and hit his head on the fall. Miller's season is officially over. Miller was active for one game, a win against the St. Louis Rams.

To take his roster spot, the Bolts elevated interior offensive lineman Jeff Baca from the practice squad, then signed former San Diego State lineman Bryce Quigley to the practice squad.
