Phillies Rollins Placed on Paternity Leave

J-Roll to spend next three days with wife Johari and new addition

Phillies shortstop Jimmy Rollins was placed on 72-hour paternity leave on Tuesday, following the birth of his daughter, Camryn Drew Rollins, on Sunday.

Rollins did not play on Monday in the team's 2-1 loss to Washington.

Backstop Eric Katz was called up from the team's Triple-A affiliate to fill Rollins' roster spot. Katz has four homers in 21 games with Lehigh Valley this season.

J-Rolls season hasn't gone exactly as planned. The sparkplug of the Phillies offensive attack, the three-time All-Star and former National League MVP is hitting just .229 this season, lowest among Phillies starters.
