The Chargers and Chiefs have a knack for playing close games in Kansas City. 5 of their last 10 meetings at Arrowhead Stadium have been decided by 3 points or less. Obviously, in close games, field goals are huge.
So the Chargers not having Nate Kaeding on Sunday in Missouri is not exactly a comforting thought. Friday at practice, Kaeding, who has not missed this year, said he has a sore groin muscle. He did not make the trip East.
Now the Bolts will have to see if it's simply soreness, or an injury that will keep him out for an extended period.
Nick Novak, who did a fine job last year when Nate was injured, is likely to be signed an handling kicks in the Chiefs game on Sunday.
