"Hey, Is That The News Guy?"
Artie Ojeda running in the Rock 'N Roll Marathon.
Yes! That was me running this year's Rock 'N Roll Marathon. I finished in 3 hours 5 minutes 53 seconds.
I wanted to offer a huge thank you to everyone on the course screaming encouragement for "The News Guy."
Also, a special thanks to the young woman who wrapped ice around my knee at the finish line (that couldn't have been pleasant!). And also a shout out to the shuttle bus driver who prevented me from falling on my rear after my calf cramped up! Ouch!
That said, this was a TOUGH race for me. I fell short of my goal to break 3 hours. I'm pretty sore right now! But on the bright side, my time was more than two minutes faster than my previous RNR! Look out Kenyans!
For the immediate future, my plan is to be able to walk again!
Meanwhile, congratulations to everyone who took part in the race. And way to go "Running Elvi!"
And one last note: I ran most of the race next to a guy in a Batman costume! He beat me. But at least getting beaten by the Caped Crusader wasn't as humbling as losing to Minnie Mouse in Boston a few years ago!
