Headley Belts Pads Past Brewers

Was it a pitching duel or merely a battle of inept offenses? Either way, the Padres and Brewers combined for 3 runs on 14 total hits with 25 strikeouts over 12 innings of baseball. 4 hours and 4 minutes after the first pitch by a combined 10 pitchers the Padres won it 2-1.

Chase Headley, who has been mired in a season long slump, went 2-4 and provided the winning hit. His solo homer in the 12th (measured at 447-feet) put the Friars up 2-1. Huston Street, the 6th Padres pitcher, struck out Ryan Braun looking to end the game. It was Street's 7th save of the season. Rookie Donn Roach, who pitched the 10th and 11th innings in relief, got his first big league win.

The series concludes Wednesday at Miller Park with first pitch scheduled for 5:10 PDT..
