First Things First

Head coach Steve Fisher rarely minces words. At his Tuesday press conference he got right to the point, "We're full-blown looking at UNLV and immediately after that game we'll turn our attention to New Mexico."

History proves that his Aztecs must take Wednesday's game at Thomas & Mack Center very seriously.  Despite a very mediocre 11-6 record at home this season the Runnin' Rebels have done well against the Aztecs there the past few years. Just ask Xavier Thames. "I know I haven't won there," the senior guard said.

The Aztecs beat UNLV rather handily earlier this season at Viejas Arena, beating them 63-52 on January 18th. If they repeat that performance, Saturday's home game against New Mexico will be for all the marbles. "Our players know that. The most important thing to us is we want to win the conference," said Fisher.
