When the Oregon Ducks take the field against Oklahoma State in the Holiday Bowl, the memory of Todd Doxey will live on.

Doxey was an outstanding football player at Hoover High School in San Diego, and very well liked.  He was  a redshirt freshman at the University of Oregon, when he died in a drowning accident this summer in Eugene, Oregon.

The Ducks will be playing in Doxey's hometown on Tuesday night, and they'll never forget their teammate.   Doxey's number 29, and his initials are on the back of every Oregon helmet.   Every game this season a different player wears 29 in his honor.  In the Holiday Bowl it'll be defense back Talmadge Jackson.

"We're dedicating this game to him, and his family. If he were still alive, he'd be on the field with us," said Jackson. "We think about Todd all the time, he's always in our thoughts and prayers."

Doxey's family is expected to attend a practice to meet with the team.  They're also hoping to watch Tuesday night's game at Qualcomm Stadium.
