The former Aztecs star spent the last two seasons with the Arizona Cardinals. He was released after their third preseason game.

Lindley played in six games his rookie season, starting in four of them. He completed 89 of 171 passes with seven touchdowns and no touchdowns. He holds the NFL record for most pass attempts without a touchdown toss.

His most important job in week one will be espionage. Lindley will no doubt provide valuable information about the Cardinals offense as the Chargers prepare for their season opener on September 8th at Arizona.

Meanwhile the Cardinals signed linebacker Thomas Keiser to their roster after he was cut by the Chargers on Saturday.

Below is a list of the Chargers practice squad players:

QB Ryan Lindley / WR Javontee Herndon / WR Torrence Allen / T Jeremiah Sirles / G Craig Watts / DL Chas Alecxih / OLB Cordarrow Law / CB Greg Ducre / S Adrian Phillips
