Wide receiver Malcom Floyd has been placed on the Chargers injured-reserved list, along with outside linebacker Dwight Freeney, the team announced on Oct. 1.

The San Diego Chargers placed two players on the injured-reserve list Tuesday: wide receiver Malcom Floyd and outside linebacker Dwight Freeney.

According to the team, both Bolts players suffered injuries in recent games. Floyd sprained his neck in the Sept. 15 match-up against the Philadelphia Eagles, while Freeney sustained an injury to his quadriceps in Sunday’s match-up against the Dallas Cowboys.

In corresponding moves, the Chargers have signed wide receiver Lavelle Hawkins, a 5-foot-11, 194-pound player currently in his sixth season with the NFL.

The team says Hawkins was originally a fourth-round draft pick of the Tennessee Titans in 2008, hailing from the University of California Berkeley. He spent five seasons in Tennessee, in addition to parts of the offseason with the New England Patriots and San Francisco 49ers.

The Chargers have also added outside linebacker Thomas Keiser to the roster. He was signed from the team’s practice squad.

Before signing with the Bolts, the team says Keiser spent two seasons with the Carolina Panthers. He appeared in 14 games and racked up the following stats: 9 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 5 tackles for loss and one interception. This preseason, he recorded 9 tackles and 2.5 sacks.

In addition to these two moves on Tuesday, the Chargers added tackle Andrew Tiller to their practice squad. Tiller played at Syracuse University and was a sixth-round pick of the New Orleans Saints in 2012.
