Chargers Lose Buster Again

The Chargers Placed Buster Davis on Injured Reserve

For the 3rd straight year, Buster Davis will finish the NFL season on injured reserve.  The Chargers' injury-prone wide receiver has a groin problem and will miss the rest of the 2010 campaign.

Davis, a 1st round draft pick in 2007, has played in just 12 games over the last three seasons.  He's due $840,000 in 2011, the last year of his rookie contract, but I just cannot see the team bringing him back again at any price, especially with the addition of Patrick Crayton and the development of Seyi Ajirotutu.  When he was drafted his name was Craig Davis but he wanted to be called Buster.  His time in San Diego will simply be called a Bust.

To fill Davis' roster spot, the Chargers re-signed offensive tackle Adam Terry.

Also, the Chargers officially waived Shawne Merriman.  That means the linebacker is now healthy enough to play and free to sign with another NFL team.
