Ernie Ladd played for the San Diego Chargers as a defensive tackle from 1961- 1965. After his pro football career he went on to a successful career as a -- pro wrestler.
Ladd was not a small man; he stood 6-foot 9-inches and 315 pounds, his nickname, the "Big Cat."
Ladd was an All-AFL selection in 1965 and an AFL All-Star in 1963 - 1966. He was inducted into the Chargers Hall of Fame in 1981.
