Border Patrol Agent and Football Player Seriously Injured

San Diego Enforcers defensive back suffers spine injury

Sometimes the people who help us out need our help. This is one of those times.

Kurt Nagel is a Marine Interdiction Agent who works with U.S. Customs and Border Protection. That basically means he patrols the waters off San Diego. He’s also a defensive back for the San Diego Enforcers.

If you’re unaware, the Enforcers are one of the most successful teams in the National Public Safety Football League. All the players are members of public safety entities. In their Salute To Service game on Saturday night against the U.S. Marine Corps, Nagel was severely injured on a play late in the fourth quarter.

Nagel suffered two broken vertebrae. He underwent surgery on Easter Sunday but had some complications that led to a fever. As of Monday afternoon Nagel was on a breathing tube and his prognosis is unknown.
