Chase Headley is as hot as the month of August. He added two more RBI's on Wednesday to push his monthly tally to 30. Headley's two-run single in the fourth gave starter Eric Stults the breathing room he needed.

Stults (5-2) pitched six strong innings, leaving with a 4-1 lead. The Padres added four more runs in the eighth to put the game out of reach.

The Padres 8-2 victory gave them their third straight series win. The Friars start a six game road trip in Colorado on Friday.
