Aztecs to Face Aggies

NBC 7

The Aztecs quest for a Mountain West Tournament title begins Thursday in Las Vegas.

Utah State defeated Colorado State 73-69 Wednesday, setting up a Thursday game against the top seeded Aztecs.

Steve Fisher's squad beat the Aggies twice this season. Their first game on January 25th in Logan, Utah was tight. A late rally by State forced the game into overtime. Conference Player of the Year Xavier Thames scored 31-points that evening and hit a clutch three-pointer in overtime to propel the Aztecs to a 74-69 win.

In February the Aztecs crushed the Aggies at Viejas Arena 60-45. Matt Shrigley came off the bench and led all Aztecs with 15-points.

Tip-off Thursday is at noon PDT.
