Aztecs head football coach Brady Hoke announced his first recruiting class at San Diego State on Wednesday.  Judging by the makeup of the 20 new players, it looks like Hoke wants to play the game fast and score a whole lot of points.

The Class of 2009 includes four wide receivers, three running backs, four cornerbacks, four safeties, two linebackers and a quarterback.  That means Coach Hoke signed exactly zero offensive or defensive lineman, which is odd considering he's a former interior lineman himself.

"We thought we had some immediate needs in the skill areas that we were able to address," said Hoke.  "On defense we wanted to address the secondary and on offense we were looking to add personnel at the wide receiver and running back positions.  I believe we signed players who will help us accomplish that."

Hoke fulfilled his promise to mine the talent-rich football fields of California.  19 of the 20 recruits are from the Golden State.  The lone out-of-towner is Anthony Miller, a running back from Dallas, TX.

The class includes five players from San Diego County: LB Jacob Driver from La Costa Canyon, WR Brandon Chambers from Mira Mesa, WR Marven Jones from Kearny, WR Osmond Nicholas from Oceanside and QB Colton Morrison from El Camino.
