And the Grand Marshal Is…

Oregon and Oklahoma State will meet in San Diego

Football fans will see a familiar face celebrating the 31st Annual Pacific Life Holiday Bowl here in San Diego this month.

Jack Box, the CEO of Jack in the Box, will serve as honorary chairman for the event and grand marshal for the Port of San Diego Big Bay Balloon Parade.

“I am honored to be honored with such a great… uh…honor as Honorary Chairman and Grand Marshal,” Jack is quoted in a news release from Jack in the Box.

Oregon is making its 3rd Holiday Bowl appearance.  Mike Belotti's team beat Texas in 2000 and lost to Oklahoma in 2005.  Oklahoma State made its only appearance in San Diego 20 years ago, when Barry Sanders rushed for 222 yards and five touchdowns in a 62-14 win over Wyoming.

The Holiday Bowl kicks off at 5 p.m. San Diego time on Tuesday, December 30. The parade steps off at 10 a.m. PT on game day morning along downtown San Diego’s scenic waterfront on Harbor Drive.
