Alise Post

Country: USA
Sport: Cycling BMX
Date of Birth: 01/17/1991
First Olympics: 2012, London

Alise Post was first introduced to BMX racing through her older brother when she was 6 years old. While some Olympians immediately take to their sports, Post had a bit of a rockier start – even forfeiting her first-ever race after succumbing to the racing version of stage fright. A former gymnast and track and field athlete, Post gave it all up to commit to BMX racing full-time upon graduating high school in 2009. A year earlier, she was denied a spot on the 2008 Olympic team because she was too young to compete, but – in 2012 – Post finally made her Olympic debut. After being unable to make it out of the semifinals in London, Post has her sights set on Olympic redemption in Rio. When she's not competing or training at the Olympic Training Center in Chula Vista, California, Post is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology at University of San Diego.
