The weather and water is still warm, but summer is so over at the San Diego Convention Center, where bikini designers and surfboard makers already have their sites on 2010.
The swimsuits you'll be dying to buy, those flip-flops you'll be wearing, even your next pair of board shorts were revealed Thursday in San Diego at the Action Sports Retailers convention.
While Action Sports offers retailers a look at next summer's lineup, the economy is still a factor, even where the sun is always shining.
“I think our industry is going through a transitional stage right now,” one manufacturer said. “We're seeing some companies getting weeded out with the bad economy.
People at the convention can find plenty of hats, blouses and bikinis, but one thing that is particularly hard to find are surfboards – the show really revolves around clothing.
The trade show is not open to the public; it's for people in the business, everyone from surf shops to the big retail chains.
