Most Yankees fans would have expected Alex Rodriguez to be fielding grounders, taking some BP or even studying film of pitchers up in the Bronx this week in anticipation of New York's ALCS matchup with the Angels, but it seems the ballplayer was playing games with squeeze Kate Hudson right here in Miami.
A-Rod and Hudson were seen throughout the Magic City all week, first lunching at trendy Houstons in Coral Gables on Monday, according to People.
Rodriguez, 34, played the dutiful boyfriend role to a tee, accompanying Hudson, 30, to several boutiques and a beauty supply store.
"They looked happy and into what they were talking about," a source told People. It likely wasn't Game 1 Angels starter John Lackey's slider.
Things got hot and heavy Tuesday night when the two dined in a private room at South Beach's Prime 112 steakhouse, as A-Rod nearly got to second base, according to Scene in the Tropics.
"Kate and Alex definitely did not want to be seen while they had a cozy dinner," a source told People. "They seemed really into each other."
With A-Rod's postseason troubles behind him - he was 5 for 11 with two homers and six RBI in a four game series victory over the Twins - he can afford to take a little jaunt to Miami.
Hopefully he made it back to NYC for BP today.
