Chargers Receivers Coach Charlie Joiner is starting the season without veteran Vincent Jackson, but not to worry Joiner actually holds the Chargers' record for the highest number of receptions for a wide receiver in the team's 51 year history.
Charlie Joiner was inducted in to the 1996 class of the NFL's Hall of Fame. When Joiner retired, he had played pro football for 18 years, more than any other wide receiver in history. When he retired in 1986 at the age of 39, Joiner was the leading receiver of all time with 750 catches. Rest easy San Diego; the Chargers' receivers are in great hands with Joiner, with or without Jackson.
