But it’s what the governor chose as an icebreaker in the speech to graduates that’s getting the buzz in this morning’s Sacramento Bee.
"I was also going to give a graduation speech in Arizona this weekend," Schwarzenegger said. "But with my accent I was afraid they would try to deport me."
The Bee reports that the governor’s press folks provided a copy of the address and confirmed that he delivered the joke about Arizona.
Schwarzenegger has said he does not support Arizona's new controversial immigration law giving officers the ability to question people they believe are in the country illegally if they are investigating a crime. He has said immigration issues are the decision of the federal government. "I urge the federal government to get their act together," Schwarzenegger said recently.
