Donald Trump to Iowans: ‘Will You Get Your Numbers Up, Please?'

Donald Trump made a plea to Iowans to "get these numbers up" when he returned to the state on Tuesday, NBC News reported.

Trump, who has been touting his high poll numbers, told the crowd of almost 2,400 people who gathered in West High School in Sioux City that he was leading “until Iowa came along.”

A new CBS/New York Times national poll released Tuesday showed Trump behind Ben Carson, at 22 and 26 percent, though that number lies within the poll’s margin of error. The most recent Quinnipiac, Bloomberg, and Monmouth polls show Trump down to Carson in Iowa.

Trump shifted his strategy by taking questions from the audience and even stepped off the stage to speak to a wounded veteran and his wife, according to NBC News.

The former Iowa frontrunner remained confident during the rally, saying he thinks “we’re gonna win in Iowa.”
