All Even in Governor's Race: Poll

It should be a very interesting 40 days until Californians head to the polls and choose who they want to take over the job as governor.

The latest Rasmussen statewide survey shows Lt. Governor Jerry Brown and former eBay CEO Meg Whitman are in a dead heat.

The new numbers show Brown gaining ground on Whitman since the last poll.  Rasmussen talked to 750 likely voters earlier this week.

While that race remains tight, the race for U.S. Senate appears to be leaning toward the Democrats.

The new Rasmussen survey of likely voters came in with Sen. Barbara Boxer four points ahead of challenger Carly Fiorina.

  • Sen. Barbara Boxer - 47 percent
  • Carly Fiorina - 43 percent
  • Undecided - 6 percent

The numbers forced Rasmussen to change the California race from "Toss-Up" status to "Leans Democrat."
