A Virginia mother is facing federal child neglect charges after her toddler called police, claiming he was hungry.

The 4-year-old called 911 around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, according to Prince William County police.

When police arrived to the boy's Bristow home, they found him there alone.

His mother, 43-year-old Love Sonia Altagracia Polanco Franklin, arrived shortly after and was charged with felony child neglect, police said. She was released from prison on personal recognizance.
