  • The crashers, a man and woman, were both caught on camera swiping presents.
  • One of the two wedding crashers has been arrested.

A man has been accused of crashing two weddings in central New York and stealing cards containing cash and checks.

The Utica Police Department says 40-year-old Joseph Ciszek of Whitesboro was arrested Wednesday and charged with grand larceny.

Police say Ciszek stole boxes containing wedding cards from two separate weddings held at different venues in Utica on July 23. Officials say he wasn't an invited guest at either wedding.

Surveillance photos from one of the venues showed Ciszek and a woman entering one of the reception locations. The release of the photos by police led to his arrest.

The woman in the photos hasn't been arrested.

Ciszek is being held in the Oneida County Jail. It couldn't be determined if he has a lawyer.
