4 Injured in USC Campus Shooting

At least four people were wounded during the shooting.

    USC's Department of Public Safety has issued a Trojan Alert, asking students to "shelter in place and avoid opening doors for unknown persons."

    There were reports of shots fired on the University of Southern California campus late Wednesday, wounding at least four people, authorities said.

    According to the campus' online news outlet, Neon Tommy, the shooting went down at about 11:30 p.m. local time near USC's Tutor Campus Center. At least one suspect has been detained.

    USC's Department of Public Safety has issued a Trojan Alert, asking students to "shelter in place and avoid opening doors for unknown persons," according to the campus newspaper the Daily Trojan.

    According to reports, the shots were fired outside a party, which was attended by several hundred people. It was not immediately known if the gunman or the victims were students at USC.

    The campus sent out the following tweet:

    "Suspect at large. Avoid TTC. If you hear shots fired or believe suspect in your area, call DPS @ 213-740-4321 if safe to do so."
